As we step into the 10th edition of Test Drive, an initiative led by La Turbine, Mauritius’ premier startup incubator, we embark on a journey that aims to foster innovation and create a positive impact on society, the environment, and the Mauritian economy. The 10th edition of Turbine Test Drive is geared towards empowering entrepreneurs, whether they are seasoned professionals or aspiring individuals, who share a strong desire to make a tangible and lasting difference in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In this article, we shine a spotlight on the first of these goals, SDG 2: Zero Hunger. We present a diverse panel of visionaries who are actively engaged in the pursuit of achieving zero hunger within the context of Test Drive 10. Olivier Baissac – CEO of ENL Agri Limited

Olivier Baissac, equipped with a degree in Agriculture and a master’s in business administration, has charted a career path that now positions him as a key figure at ENL Agri Limited. His driving forces? The modernization of agricultural practices, the integration of cutting-edge technologies for enhanced efficiency, and the cultivation of a passion for agriculture among the younger generation. Olivier is acutely aware of the pivotal role of data in informed decision-making, and he is used to the challenges imposed by shifting climate patterns, evolving technology, and the pressing demand for skilled professionals within the industry.

Bruno Dubarry – President of Le Vélo Vert Association

Bruno Dubarry, on the other hand, presides over the Le Vélo Vert Association and leads a European Union-funded agroecology initiative. His inspiration hinges on the art of crafting transformative change and high-impact projects, with a particular emphasis on food and nutritional security. Bruno has observed a growing awakening among leaders and the public regarding the significance of a resilient and sustainable food system. Simultaneously, he acknowledges the intricacies of establishing effective public-private partnerships. 

Alban de Speville – General Manager at Agrex and Field Good Fresh Foods

Alban de Speville also joins this esteemed panel. Currently, Alban holds the position of General Manager for two companies, Agrex and Field Good Fresh Foods Limited. He manages the Symfolia nursery and leads the Strategic Business Service department of ENL Agri Limited. His work spans diverse businesses and fields of expertise.When asked about significant evolutions over the past five years, they collectively highlight behavioral changes in the Mauritian population and the rapid evolution of markets. Challenges such as market visibility and the need for more strategic perspectives motivate them to work with entrepreneurs developing innovative services and products
