Reflecting on the Entrepreneurial Journey of Turbine’s 2024 Incubatees

As the 2024 incubation program concludes this month, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey of our entrepreneurs and celebrate their successes. Over the past year, they have grown, refined their projects, and tackled numerous challenges with the support of Turbine. Here are their inspiring stories and advice for future incubatees.

Turning Vision into Reality

For Qaysar Islam, founder of Rooftop Gardening Mauritius (RGM), Turbine was a game-changer:
“My time at Turbine was a turning point in my entrepreneurial journey. Thanks to the workshops, mentors, and interactions with fellow entrepreneurs, I was able to structure my vision and validate my business model. Most importantly, Turbine gave me the confidence to believe in RGM’s mission: promoting organic and sustainable gardening.”

Neelam Ramrekha, founder of PV Solutions, a project focused on recycling photovoltaic panels, echoed similar sentiments:
“At Turbine, everything came together. The discussions and feedback strengthened my conviction that my project could make a real impact.”

Xavier Harel, founder of Adeona Mobility, shared how La Turbine helped him step out of his comfort zone and grow:
“Being incubated at Turbine was an incredible opportunity. As someone who is naturally introverted, I knew how important it was to step out of my comfort zone. This experience allowed me to grow steadily but always in the right direction. Professionally, the impact was hugely positive. The workshops and the guidance from my coach, Ajmal, helped me refine my initial idea and structure it for investors. This support enabled me to lay a strong foundation for my project’s development.”

Vinod Ramdin explains:Joining  Turbine allowed me to delve deeper into an idea I had been harboring for some time, which, at the time, was still quite abstract. I had no idea where to start or how to proceed. Today, that idea has taken shape, evolved over the year, and changed direction several times. Together, we have been able to identify the best approach and develop an effective strategy to tackle the challenge of used tires in Mauritius.

Where Are They Now?

For Neelam, PV Solutions continues to make significant strides:
“At PV Solutions, we are moving forward with the support of Ecoasis, LEAL, and PV Cycle. We’ve secured strong partnerships and are in discussions with key players. Our investors are helping us build the necessary infrastructure, and our progress highlights the strong demand for local recycling of photovoltaic panels.”

Qaysar has also made substantial progress:
“Thanks to La Turbine, we’ve developed custom garden prototypes and are in advanced discussions with companies and schools to promote sustainable gardening in their spaces.”

For Xavier, Adeona Mobility has gained considerable traction:
“Adeona has already collaborated with five companies that entrusted us with auditing their employee transport systems. With a prize won during the TD10 competition, we developed a complete web suite and are about to launch our website to connect clients and operators. We will soon test our first digitalized operations with one of our clients. We are also actively seeking partnerships and investors to accelerate and strengthen our project.”

Vinod: Sixième Larou is not yet operational. The significant investment required for this project has compelled us to revisit the idea several times in order to find the best approach to overcome present challenges and anticipate future ones. Nevertheless, we are making steady progress. Through La Turbine, we have established a partnership with a major company in the country, and thanks to the professionals we met during our journey, we were able to visit and identify our machinery in China. A few adjustments remain to be made before we begin operations later this year.

Advice for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

Qaysar encourages future incubatees to be proactive:
“Never hesitate to ask questions, request contacts, and seek feedback. The coaches and mentors are a wealth of knowledge. Be open to criticism and use every opportunity to learn and grow. La Turbine is a springboard—so aim high!”

For Neelam, meaningful exchanges are key:
“Be yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Often, it’s the simple, genuine conversations that leave the greatest impact and help move your project forward.”

Xavier offers four practical tips:

  1. Step out of your comfort zone: Seize every opportunity to network, learn, and build connections, even if it feels intimidating.
  1. Be open to feedback: The advice from mentors, experts, and peers is invaluable, even if it means rethinking your ideas.
  1. Get fully involved: Actively participate in workshops and discussions to make the most of the resources available.
  1. Set clear goals: Define your priorities from the start to stay focused throughout the incubation journey

Creating a Lasting Impact

Incubation at Turbine goes far beyond technical support. It helps entrepreneurs transform their ideas into tangible initiatives with a lasting impact. As the 2024 program ends, we are proud of the journeys of Qaysar, Neelam, Xavier, and all the other incubates who embody innovation and change.

Turbine remains a hub where ideas come to life, and we are excited to welcome a new cohort of passionate entrepreneurs in 2025.
